A Positive Approach to Education and Care

Bevris Support are an approved affiliate of the Loddon Foundation which is accredited by the Bild Certificated Training (ACT).

 The Loddon Approach, known as PROACT-SCIPr-UK®, has been developed over the past 30 years by the highly acclaimed Loddon School. The school has developed a proactive model of education and care for children with extreme needs and challenging behaviour for whom a 24 hours curriculum is required. 

The training under the brand of PROACT-SCIPr-UK® (Positive Range of Options to Avoid Crisis and use Therapy – Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention) seeks to share the techniques of the Loddon Approach through a structured training programme aimed at those supporting children and adults with challenging behaviours in health and social care sectors.

What is PROACT-SCIPR-UK®?

This is the brand name for our training model which has been formally accredited by Bild Certificated Training (ACT).  

The certification is for PROACT-SCIPr-UK® – the whole approach curriculum and is for the following courses which have been certificated as complying with the Restraint Reduction Network Standards (RRN) 

Introductory & Foundation Course (2 Day)  
Instructor Course (5 Day) 
Instructor Refresher/Update (1 Day)       
The model emphasises the importance of proactive strategies to reduce the requirement for physical interventions and focuses on: 
  • The Communicative Function of Behaviour   
  • Problem Solving  
  • Support Strategies 
  • Keeping Safe and Secure 

Emma Roberts

Specialist Support Manager & Executive Lead responsible for the restrictive intervention reduction programme at Bevris.


Emma is an experienced and passionate Behavioural Lead in Complex Care.


She is skilled in Person Centred Planning and has a wealth of experience in providing support and training for adult and child client groups; including people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Acquired Brain Injuries, Mental Health Problems, Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Sensory Impairments, Complex and Challenging Behaviour and forensic backgrounds. 


Her experience includes overseeing referrals, behavioural and sensory assessment, transitions and working alongside individuals, professionals and staff to create Person Centred goals and outcomes. Her experience is underpinned by various relevant qualifications and Career Professional Development.


Emma is also an accredited Loddon Instructor responsible for delivering the Emma is a PROACT-SCIPr-UK (Positive Range of Options to Avoid Crisis-Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention).
